Education:
I received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I also earned an M.S.W. (Master in Social Work) from Columbia University, School of Social Work with an emphasis in Advanced Clinical Practice. I then earned a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles at Alliant International University with an emphasis in Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology.
Clinical Training:
The majority of my doctoral training has been at university and college settings. I have been trained at the Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services at the Claremont Colleges, where I was a pre-doctoral intern as well as a post-doctoral fellow. I was also a pre-doctoral intern at Pasadena City College, Psychological Services. In addition, I have been trained at community mental health agencies and a forensic setting.
Clinical Experiences:
I am currently a Senior Staff Psychologist at the University of California, Irvine, Counseling Center. In my role as Senior Staff Psychologist, I am also the liaison to the University of California, Irvine, School of Law, and I am the on-site psychologist who specializes in working with law students. Prior to joining the staff at UC Irvine, I was a Staff Psychologist at the University of California, Riverside, Counseling Center.
Theoretical Orientation:
My theoretical orientation is an integration of humanistic, interpersonal, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and solution focused interventions. During the therapy process, I assess the needs of my clients and adjust my approach and interventions to best suit their individual needs.
